John Zhang
Managing Director
John Zhang, Managing Director, brings to Moody more than 30 years of experience in capital markets and investment banking, with extensive expertise in capital formation, M&A, and cross-border transactions. Most recently, he served as Managing Director at Roc Global, where he successfully executed capital formation and M&A transactions in the metals and mining sector and cultivated relationships with institutional investors. Earlier in his career, he was a founding partner at a global macro hedge fund and commodity trading advisor and held Managing Director roles at Bank of America, Citigroup, and Crédit Agricole Lazard Financial Products, advising clients on complex capital markets transactions across the U.S., Europe, and Asia. He began his career as a derivatives trader and convertible bond arbitrager in New York. He currently serves on the investment committee of Fairfield County’s Community Foundation. Mr. Zhang graduated summa cum laude from the University of Rochester with bachelor’s degrees in mathematics, statistics, and economics and earned a master’s degree in finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
